Dear people of our beloved Afghanistan, greetings! We are all one.

The official state language of Greater Afghanistan is exclusively Pashto.

To the People of Great Afghanistan

The official state language of Afghanistan is Pashto. In Uzbekistan, the official language is Uzbek; in Iran, Persian (Farsi); in Germany, German; in France, French; in the United States, English; in Russia, Russian; and in Saudi Arabia, Arabic.

All of these countries are home to multiple languages; however, each has only one official state language. Naturally, every individual has the right to speak their mother tongue, but for governmental and state affairs, there is only one official language.

We therefore demand that, effective immediately, all signs in Afghanistan be written exclusively in two languages:

• the official state language, Pashto, and

• the international language, English.

Furthermore, all school textbooks from first through fourth grade shall be written entirely in Pashto. Textbooks from the fifth grade onward shall be gradually introduced and likewise written in Pashto.

In all Afghan government institutions, official documents and correspondence shall, with immediate effect, be drafted exclusively in the official state language, Pashto.

A common official state language represents unity and demonstrates that we are one people.

There are countries that interfere in Afghanistan’s internal and external affairs for their own interests, thereby repeatedly causing conflict. These countries should be ashamed of themselves.
